Find out more about Maggie:
Why is your work at Emerge important?
Our work is important because our alums are on the front lines of permanently changing Georgia for the better. Georgians are crying out for basic policy changes like Medicaid expansion, gun safety, and reproductive rights – we need strong leaders who will push for those policies and stop bad ones from passing. We’re here to make sure the passionate, brilliant, community-minded women who already have in them what it takes to lead, have the support and knowledge they need to run for office and win.
Who in politics inspires you?
We have so many great political leaders in Georgia that this is a hard question! I first came into Georgia politics through Stacey Abrams’ 2018 gubernatorial campaign, and am still inspired by the organizing movements + leaders that fueled her campaign and our victories in 2020 and 2021. These days, I am super inspired by the alums I get to work with every day – our Georgia alums on the ballot have incredible stories and messages that are driving their campaign. I love seeing how they put their brilliant minds to work coming up with smart, innovative, and truly community-driven campaigns.
What do you like to do in your free time?
These days, I love to soak up Atlanta’s beautiful fall weather, whether it’s through eating on a patio with friends, walking my dog, or birding in my neighborhood.
