Development Intern (Two Positions)

Would you like to experience the unique opportunity to interact directly with and receive professional guidance from fundraising professionals? Are you seeking an internship to help you learn more about your future career? Do you want to learn more about fundraising? Does research and gathering information appeal to you? Are you excited about getting Democratic women elected and appointed to all levels of office?

Emerge is hiring two development interns. The development interns will assist the Emerge Development team with responsibilities including, assisting with fundraising events, conducting donor research, and administrative support. Interns will have the opportunity to learn a variety of skills directly from fundraising professionals and gain experience in grassroots fundraising, donor relations, and prospecting.

The development internship positions are hourly positions capped at 20 hours per week. The positions are remote and can be based anywhere in the United States. There may be on site support and opportunities available for successful applicants based in the SF Bay area or the DC area, where Emerge Development staff are located.

What You’ll Do

  • Research projects, prospects, and initiatives for the Development team
  • Draft profiles of prospective donors for the Development team
  • Perform general administrative duties
  • Conduct daily contribution tracking
  • Assist with long term Development Department projects as needed
  • Other tasks as needed

Requirements

  • Excellent interpersonal and relational skills, including competency working cross
    culturally and in diverse teams to create an equitable and inclusive environment;
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Strong research skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Experience with research a plus
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Basic familiarity with ActBlue, NGP EveryAction, and Canva is preferred
  • Commitment to the advancement of Democratic women in politics

The rate for this paid internship is $18/hour starting in May with a flexible end date.
