MISSION
Emerge America’s mission is to increase the number of Democratic women leaders from diverse backgrounds in public office through recruitment, training, and providing a powerful network. Our vision: To change the face of power, politics, and leadership in this country in order to have policies that are responsive to all. We are operating in 25 states and just came off of an incredibly successful election cycle winning 415 races including 5 members of Congress.

As the national umbrella organization, Emerge America’s role is to:

  • Elevate the importance of electing more Democratic women at every level of the ballot.
  • Empower our current alumnae and affiliates with support and capacity-building.
  • Expand our impact by replicating our success in new states.

Emerge America is seeking a person with high energy, ability to multi-task, great project management skills, and terrific attention to detail. Reporting directly to the President and Founder, all of the duties described below will contribute to our mission in an essential way.  If you are passionate about getting more Democratic women into positions of power AND want to change the world – THIS is the job for you.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide administrative and project support to the President of the organization; assist in all organizational tasks, as needed;
  • Maintain the President’s extremely active schedule, which includes handling all logistics for meetings and travel plans, both in San Francisco and nationwide;
  • Prepare President for all meetings, coordinate briefing materials, research, and presentations etc.
  • Assist President with all meeting follow up;
  • Coordinate meetings and calls with the Emerge America Board of Directors and Advisory Board;
  • Manage all logistics for board meetings and committee meetings;
  • Provide administrative support to board members as needed;
  • Send out Emerge America board and Advisory board communications, updates and materials;
  • Work with the Emerge America board chair to track fundraising requirements.

Experience and Qualifications

  • Enthusiasm for the advancement of Democratic women in politics;
  • Proven track record of excellent follow-through and accountability;
  • Outstanding organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail;
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and keep track of multiple projects;
  • Ability to create and maintain friendly and professional relationships with staff, key stakeholders, and donors;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • Ability to think creatively and work independently;
  • Excellent time management skills;
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint;
  • Excellent web and technology skills and comfort trouble-shooting with technology;
  • Comfortable learning new technical/computer skills, as they arise.

Job Schedule and Location

The Executive Assistant will work in the Emerge America offices from 9:00am-5:30pm, Monday through Friday. This is not a position that allows for telecommuting. The Emerge America office is located in downtown San Francisco and is accessible by public transportation.

Salary and Benefits

Range $50,000 – $70,000 depending on experience. Full benefit package.
