Lindsey served in the AmeriCorps VISTA program, where she created civic education initiatives for high school students and held a full-time job creating a STEM program for high school girls. She served as her grandfather’s advocate when he struggled to receive benefits from the Department of Veterans Affairs. This propelled her into a career serving veterans, including working at The Department of Veterans Affairs under the Obama Administration. She seeks to create a better future for families.
Lindsey was able to put herself through graduate school at Baylor University and a second master’s program at Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government.
Lindsey was a victim of an assault when she was in college and has made sexual violence prevention a part of her campaign.
Lindsey and her husband coach girls’ soccer, little league, serve on the local PTA and teach Sunday School.
Lindsey lists many issues that are important to her as she embarks on her journey to the United States Congress: creating jobs, recognizing healthcare as a basic human right, investing in education, strengthening national security, fighting for veterans, protecting women’s healthcare, removing money from politics, getting rid of discriminatory immigration policies, protecting the environment, improving transportation, protecting civil servants and ending gun violence.
