Formerly, she was the Deputy County Attorney for the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office and an Assistant Attorney General, as well as an employee of the Department of Homeland Security, and the White House Council on Women and Girls. She also founded the non-profit ALWAYS, Arizona Legal Women and Youth Services, which provides legal services for those who have suffered trauma, orphanage, foster care, and homelessness.
January Contreras is a proud Arizonan. She is a graduate of the University of Arizona in Tucson where she earned her undergraduate and law degrees.
January hopes to put an end to abuse of the Office of the District Attorney. She has seen the office be overtaken by special interest groups and used as their own personal law firm. She wishes to turn this into an office that works for all Arizonans.
