Janet is a product of the public-school system in Lancaster and a proud alumnus of J.P McCaskey. She later attended the Thompson Institute and Lancaster Bible College. Janet went on to work in telecommunications, as an insurance rep and is currently a Stroke and Cardiac Medical analyst. Janet is also a devoted volunteer to the YMCA as a sexual assault Advocate, as well as her church where she signs in the choir and teaches Sunday school.
The aftermath of Trump’s election compelled Janet to stand up and run for Lancaster City Council. She credits the network of outstanding women in Emerge Pennsylvania for giving her the encouragement and motivation she needed to make the decision to run.
Janet experienced poverty and homelessness in her life, and she wants to make sure that the city of Lancaster addresses these issues. Janet wants to focus on revitalization, safety, the youth, affordable housing and the overall economic growth of Lancaster.
