Paula’s favorite memories from school involve learning and having fun with her classmates and her 6th grade social studies and math teacher, Mr. Barry Gold, who was particularly impactful and inspired her life-long love of education. Paula is a proud product of public education, having attended community college at the Milwaukee Area Technical College to graduating with a bachelor’s degree from UW-Madison. Throughout her career, Paula has served her community through church ministry, as an AmeriCorps volunteer, and as a project manager at City Year Milwaukee.
She ran for Milwaukee School Board because she knows how strong schools can be a safe haven and unlock a student’s God-given potential.
Paula wants Milwaukee Public Schools to be a place where teachers can be supported, respected, and spend their careers in Milwaukee.
Paula feels grateful to have grown up in the United States, and wants to give back to the country and city that have given her so much.
Paula is committed to strengthening parent involvement, using tax dollars efficiently and wisely, fixing the state’s school funding formula, and making sure that students achieve success no matter how they shape their future.
