I’ve only taken part in one Emerge weekend and I am already humbled by the connections that this amazing network has provided me. These women are truly inspiring! Over the course of the past three weeks, I have been invited to take part in numerous candidate meet and greet events, have witnessed one of my sisters present her views at a local town hall via Facebook video, have shared in the joy of two other sisters as they host an inaugural gathering of progressive young professionals, and have had the pleasure of sharing in personal triumphs such as 5kraces and new job opportunities.

On Saturday, I was thrilled to receive a call from Amy Cookson, President of theBoard for Emerge Maine and Press Secretary for the Cain for Congress campaign. One of the women they had lined up to appear in a press shoot for Emily Cain hadto cancel at the last minute and Amy was wondering if I was available to fill in.WAS I EVER! It was a privilege and an honor to meet Emily and to help spread herprogressive message in a campaign that is so important to the State of Maine. Whatmade it even better was realizing that Emily is also one of my Emerge Maine sisters!

I am so proud to be among such a talented, smart and forward-thinking group ofwomen. I can’t wait to see what EMERGES over the next six months!
