Nine years of graduate study and research in economics and statistics provided her with a deep theoretical understanding of data analysis.
Fifteen years as Accounting Manager at a Northern California retreat center gave her real-world experience tracking, analyzing and auditing a $10 million operating budget. Serving nearly three years as CFO, Treasurer and Managing Director she oversaw a $60 million rebuild construction project in the wake of the catastrophic Valley Fire. Through these experiences, she developed the art of translating financial data into a coherent narrative to support mission-driven decision making.
She has a B.A. in Biochemistry and English from U.C. Berkeley, a Masters in International Environmental Policy from Tufts University, and a Masters in Economics from U.C. Berkeley. She also served as a Peace Corps volunteer teaching aquaculture to rural farmers in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
