She is the mother of a toddler, daughter of a Jamaican immigrant, a Social Worker, and proud product of Cambridge’s Public Schools, and Cambridge Public Housing. She previously served two terms on the Cambridge School Committee, and has over twenty years of experience in human services and youth work.
In 2023, Councillor Wilson received the Inspire award from the Cambridge Chamber of Commerce, and a Black Excellence on the Hill award from the Massachusetts House of Representatives. And just this past June, Councillor Wilson received the 2024 Emerge Massachusetts Woman Of The Year.
In addition to public office, she serves as a member of the Greater Boston Association of Black Social Workers, the Secretary of the NAACP Cambridge Branch, and on Cambridge YWCA’s Board of Directors.
In all contexts and positions, Ayesha strives to be a fearless advocate for the well-being of youth, social justice, and advocacy.
