Washington, D.C. — Following the first 2024 presidential debate between President Biden and Donald Trump, Emerge President A’shanti F. Gholar issued a statement:

“During CNN’s presidential debate, former President Trump lied, lied again, and never stopped lying. Americans deserve better than a leader who spews baseless claims while awaiting sentencing on 34 federal criminal charges. While Donald Trump and his MAGA allies brag about their role in restricting abortion rights and spread lies about the harm to patients and families, Emerge women are on the frontlines fighting back, speaking up for the voters they represent. As we head toward November, we must continue the fight and vote for Democrats up and down the ballot who will stand up for the rights and freedoms of all Americans. Never forget – voters keep showing us how unpopular these MAGA policies, such as abortion bans are. And they will show us again this November.”
