After graduating from the Air Force Academy, Jocelyn served on active duty in the Air Force for ten years. First, she served as an Admissions Officer for the Air Force Academy. Then, she served as an intelligence officer, briefing Air Force pilots in South Carolina and Germany. In 2011, Jocelyn was the sole recipient of the Air Force’s law school scholarship and after graduating from the University of North Carolina School of Law, Jocelyn served as a prosecutor and general practice attorney in the Judge Advocate General’s Corps. Following her decade of military service, Jocelyn clerked for the Honorable Barbara A. Jackson of the North Carolina Supreme Court. Following her clerkship, Jocelyn was a complex commercial litigator for six years in the Raleigh, North Carolina office of McGuireWoods LLP.
As an active member in her community, Jocelyn currently serves as the Chair of the Advisory Board of the Southeast Raleigh YMCA and on the council of the North Carolina Bar Association’s Military and Veterans Law Section. In January 2023, Governor Roy Cooper appointed Jocelyn to serve as a commissioner on the North Carolina Real Estate Commission. She also volunteers in the community through her membership in the Junior League of Raleigh. For these and other contributions to her professional and personal communities, Jocelyn has received numerous accolades including, the Outstanding Recent Graduate Award from the Alumni Association of UNC Chapel Hill School of Law. She also was named to the National Bar Association’s 40 Under 40 List in the category of Nation’s
Best Advocate.
In her leisure time, Jocelyn enjoys traveling, gardening, and reading. She is married to Harold A. Mallette, who is an architect, and she is the proud mother of Harold Henry and Everly Elizabeth, who are hilarious and lively toddlers.
