She has experience in electoral campaigns, organizing, issue advocacy, civic engagement, and data management and analytics.
In 2020, she was a regional Data Director for NextGen America where she was responsible for supporting Arizona, Iowa, Michigan, Nevada, and Wisconsin in mobilizing youth voters. Together with the state teams, they were able to achieve record-breaking youth turnout and secure 43 electoral votes for Joe Biden and Kamala Harris.
Prior to that, she was the National Data and Research Director for Mi Familia Vota. The civic engagement programs she supported in Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Nevada, and Texas registered over 80K Latinx voters and turned out over 95K voters.
Jessica grew up on the US – Mexico border and wholeheartedly identifies as Pocha. She found her true passion for supporting women, the working class, people of color, and immigrants while working at Restaurant Opportunities Center in DC. Some of her favorite accomplishments are: pressuring Andrew Puzder to withdraw his Secretary of Labor nomination, pushing Congress to codify tip ownership in the Fair Labor Standards Act, and getting a cease-and-desist letter after executing a series of successful direct actions advocating for worker’s rights.
