The proud daughter of former farmworkers, Amanda has been blazing trails on behalf of women and Latinos for more than 25 years. She began her career in public service as a high school math and economics teacher in the small agricultural community where she grew up, and then served as a budget analyst for the City of San Jose, California. She next moved to Washington to work for US Senators Diane Feinstein and Debbie Stabenow, where she became the first Latina Chief of Staff in the history of the United States Senate. More recently, Amanda served as the National Political Director for Hillary Clinton’s 2016 Presidential Campaign and as the Chief of Operations for the California Department of Justice.
Amanda is a nationally recognized political analyst, with regular appearances on major media outlets such as National Public Radio, ABC, CNN, MSNBC, Telemundo, and Univision. She has been featured in Allure, BuzzFeed, Cosmopolitan, Elle, ESPNW, McClatchy newspapers, Politico, and Sports Illustrated.
Amanda is a current or former member of several boards, including Stanford University’s Haas Center for Public Service, People for the American Way, and TEEN Success. She holds Bachelor’s degrees in Economics and Political Science from Stanford University and a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Harvard Business School.
