Read moreDr. Nadia Hashimi is a first generation American from a family of Afghan immigrants. Pursuing higher education, Nadia worked to complete a doctorate in order to become a pediatrician. When she is not attending to people, she is an author writing about gender inequality, helping her husband manage his neurosurgery practice, and post-9/11, she has been speaking out about immigration, racial equality, and gender inequalities.
As a representative, Nadia will work to lower the cost of healthcare, expand healthcare access, enforce pharmaceutical pricing oversight and cut back red tape in healthcare medication research and introductions. She will level the playing field in schools and support Title IX. Nadia wishes to see a minimum wage that meets the cost of living and promote entrepreneurship and encourage partnership between private ventures and the government.
Nadia wants to see comprehensive immigration reform, a pathway to citizenship for dreamers and immigration policies that do not discriminate based on one’s religious faith. She will step up and fight the NRA, promote policies that ensure a cleaner environment, support and create policies that help women and make the United States a respected player in global politics.
